1978年9月—1981年2月,赴法國國家腫瘤研究所進修遺傳毒理學;
1986年9月—1987年7月,美國俄亥俄醫學院訪問學者;
1992年,荷蘭腫瘤研究所訪問學者;
1996年,MD Anderson Cancer Center訪問學者;
1992年—2001年,中國醫學科學院腫瘤研究所副所長、腫瘤醫院副院長;
1999年入選中國工程院院士 ;

主要貢獻
程書鈞研究員從事腫瘤的化療病因和癌變機理研究毒理遺傳學研究30餘年,主持國家七五、八五、九五、腫瘤攻關有關致癌物檢測及腫瘤早診課題。
建立了有先進水平的致癌物快速檢測系統,對我國食管癌和肺癌發生相關的致癌因素作了大量研究並提供了重要資料。在抗致癌物研究中發現綠茶及其主要成分兒茶素可明顯抑制癌變及兒茶素對人的尖銳濕疣及炎症增生有明顯治療作用,此項發明已獲國際專利,經FDA批准在美國進行臨床試驗,這是國際上首次FDA批准的研究用天然兒茶素治療疾病,有重要的社會、經濟效益和國際影響。
建立了適合我國套用並有先進水平的上皮細胞無血清培養技術,可用於培養多種人的上皮細胞。
首次建立四株中國人的永生化支氣管上皮細胞系並構建了人肺癌變前病變模型。
提出以癌前病變發生與逆轉機理作為我國當前腫瘤集注研究的主攻方向,已獲國家批准,成為“國家重點基礎研究”首批入選項目,並擔任“惡性腫瘤發生與發展的基礎性研究”首席科學家。
多次獲衛生部科技成果獎及國家級榮譽獎,對發展我國致癌物檢測和遺傳毒理學的研究作出了重要貢獻。
成果榮譽
程書鈞研究員學風嚴謹,培養博士、碩士生23人,發表論著94篇,其中被美國SCI收錄的論文18篇,共被引用219次。
1990年被衛生部授予全國衛生系統優秀留學回國人員稱號;
1991年被國家教委、人事部授予國家有突出貢獻留學回國人員;
1994年獲衛生部有突出貢獻中青年專家。
