科研設施

俱樂部和社團

History
MurdochUniversitywasinitiallyintendedtocaterpredominantlytomature-agedstudents.Asaresult,manycoursesareavailableexternallyandanincreasingnumberareavailableonline.
CurtinUniversityofTechnologyandMurdochUniversityagreedinJune2005toundertakeafeasibilitystudyonmerging.OnNovember7,2005,bothinstitutionsissuedapressreleasestatingthatsuchamergerwillnotbeundertaken.
In2006and2007,theSouthStreetcampuslibraryunderwentmajorbuildingworkstoremoveasbestosfromtheroof(inanongoingprojectinvolvingotheruniversitybuildings)[notincitationgiven]andconstructthenewLearningCommon.Aspartoftheseworks,somelibraryitemswererearranged,includingthere-shelvingofmostitemstobeinDDCsequenceontheSouthWing.

TheMurdochUniversityGuildofStudentsisthestudentrepresentativeassociationatMurdochUniversity.Underthepreviousuniversalstudentmembershiplegislation,allstudentsautomaticallybecamemembersoftheguild,althoughtheycouldsubsequentlyoptoutoroptinofmembership.In2005,voluntarystudentunionismlegislationwasintroducedbytheFederalgovernment.Studentscannowchoosenottobemembersoftheguild,orchoosetobebasicorfinancialmembers(financialmemberspayfeesandreceiveadditionalentitlements,includingdiscounts).
