凱薩琳說：“我從小就愛聽故事和寫東西，當我放學後，我總愛花幾個小時編寫故事。當我14歲時，我就開始利用放學時間和周末撰寫第一本小說。
凱薩琳16歲那年參加了劍橋市的一個圖書節，並遇到了一個文學書商。當這名書商閱讀了凱薩琳的小說《一個國王的眼睛》初稿後，立即從中發現了凱薩琳潛在的寫作才能。當凱薩琳剛剛參加完英國中學普通教育證書考試後不久，英國蘭登書屋出版商就和她簽訂了一份新書出版契約。凱薩琳說：“我總是夢想成為一名作家，但我從來沒有想到我寫的書竟會真的出版。當我簽下出版契約後，我感到非常興奮和震驚。”凱薩琳希望自己的新書能夠贏得讀者的喜愛。
凱薩琳目前已經完成了魔幻三部曲中的第二部小說，而第三部小說正在撰寫之中。
《一個國王的眼睛》描述一些年輕人在一個魔法世界中的歷險，年輕的主人公里奧·諾斯在雪地上無意中撿到了一本神秘的黑書，這本書具有神奇的魔力，諾斯在這本書的陪伴下，開始了他的魔法世界探險記南志·

Catherine Banner started writing her book sitting at the back of the classroom at the age of 14. She is becoming the next J.K. Rowling.
Now 19, Miss Banner has already published her first work, The Eyes of a King, which is becoming a best-seller.
"Growing up, I always loved stories and writing," she said. "When I was little, one of my favorite games was to staple together pieces of paper and make them into a book with stories and pictures, and later I spent hours after school writing stories."
"I wrote whenever I had any time free. Sometimes I was even writing down a few sentences at the back of the class or in between lessons so as not to forget them. It was just a bit of fun."
"I was really excited. It just meant so much to me. Now I’m looking forward to hearing what people think of the book."
She started an English degree at Cambridge University in September 2008.
