個人簡介
安東尼-明格拉(Anthony Minghella)於1954年1月6日出生於英國的懷特島，他的義大利父母因為製作的冰淇淋而聞名。從英國赫爾大學(University of Hull)畢業並獲得文學學士學位以後，安東尼作為一名教授在一所大學任教，他也就是在這段短暫的教書任職中開始創作音樂和劇本。1984年，他獲得了由倫敦影評人協會(London Theatre Critics)授予的年度最具潛力編劇獎；1986年，他又因為《曼谷製造(Made in Bangkok)》而獲得了年度最佳劇本獎。
2001年，安東尼獲得了英國女王生日榮譽清單(Queen's Birthday Honours List)授予的司令勳章(CBE)。
在由安東尼執導的影片中，有5位演員獲得奧斯卡獎提名，包括拉爾夫-費因斯(Ralph Fiennes)、裘德-洛(Jude Law)、蕾妮-齊薇格(Renee Zellweger)、朱麗葉-比諾什(Juliette Binoche)和克里斯汀-斯科特(Kristin Scott)，其中朱麗葉-比諾什於1996年因為《英國病人(The English Patient)》而獲得奧斯卡最佳女配角獎，而蕾妮-齊薇格也於2003年因為《冷山(Cold Mountain)》而獲此殊榮。
