幕後製作
本片的故事有點像梁山伯和祝英台，但不以愛情線為主，而旨在宣揚女權主義思想；影片對歌曲的處理已完全擺脫了傳統的“停戲唱歌”方式，歌曲出現得極為自然，仿佛是水到渠成的戲劇獨白。影片在這些方面非常細膩，此外還細緻地表現了主角的戀父情結。影片的攝影模擬倫勃朗繪畫的風格，史翠姍的演技和歌藝爐火純青，歌曲對於心理描寫起到了極佳的作用。
