1。 意譯部分主要基於：女主剛結束一段愛情，男主卻已有了伴侶，再也無法向以前一樣深愛著 女主。從this ship, i could give you love, if you let me in.等歌詞看來，如果說背景故事是男女主角之間的分手後的故事應該是更合理的。但是從女主的lost your faith，顯然女主是被拋棄的一方，如果是男女主角之間的分手為背景的話，就會和i could give you love, if you let me in有所衝突。
2。 意譯部分主要是根據幾個歌詞（could,couldn't,love,if,in,never）的不同音調進行不同的翻譯。
couldn't: [1]現在[2]過去
love: [1][2]從歌詞與音調上感覺不到區別。
但是[2][3]只出現在" I couldn't[2] give you love[2] ", "I couldn't[2] give you love[3] "。

3。關於I f[1] you let me in[1]的翻譯:由於歌詞中出現的眾多i couldn't you you（唱could的時候是省略尾音d的），男主始終無法逾越朋友的界限，只能以朋友的身份安慰女主，這樣一來，如果譯為“如果你能向我敞開心扉”似乎就有所不適合，所以以朋友身份的對話的”能否向我敞開心扉“。
