Did you like 'The Poseidon Adventure' ?? If yes, you will love 'The Last Voyage'. This is one of the most believable pictures I've ever seen; and not without reason: did you know that most of the sinking scenes were shot on the French Liner 'Ile de France' right before it was sold to Chinese wreckers (by the way: that's the reason for all the Chinese Stewards in the picture)?? They actually flooded parts of the engine room for the shooting. And even the scene in the Dining room (at the end)was real; Wanna see how it REALLY is to see a ship sinking ?? Get this movie... The only really disappointing scene is the actual sinking of the 'Claridon'. But it's worth it anyway...

你喜歡“the Poseidon adventure”（ALIEN註：《海神號歷險記》，1972年的美國電影，海難片的經典之作，曾獲第45屆學院獎插曲“the morning after”和特別成就（視覺效果）兩項大獎，另有女配角Shelley Winters、藝術指導、攝影、服裝設計、剪輯、原創配樂（正劇類）、音效七項提名）嗎？如果喜歡，那么你就會喜歡這一部“the last voyage”。這是我所看過的拍得最為真實的一部電影；並且也是有著充足理由的：……（沒有看過這個片子，所以這一句翻譯遇到了難題：wreckers常見的有兩個意思，一個是使船隻失事的人，劫掠失事船貨物者，破壞者；另一個則是營救失事船者【人、船等】，搶救失事船貨物者；營救【打撈】船；救險車等。由於兩個意思幾乎完全相反，而它又還沒有看過這部電影，所以這一句跳過不譯，免得對他人造成誤導。）片中的所有在發動機房甚至餐廳中的鏡頭全部都是實地拍攝的；想看看一艘船真正沉沒時是什麼樣子嗎？去看這部電影吧……唯一一個真正讓人感動失望的鏡頭，只有片中“Claridon”號真正沉沒的時候。

終於在新視界找到了更加完整的信息：
四十年前拍攝的早期災難片，為了追求沉船的真實感，導演安德魯．L．斯通的把一艘法國郵輪弄沉來拍攝，製作之認真可見一斑。羅伯特．斯塔克與多蘿西．馬隆飾演一對夫婦，他們乘豪華郵輪度假。在汪洋大海中，郵輪起火導致船身逐漸沉沒。多蘿西被困在底層的船艙，羅伯特和其它乘客用盡一切辦法想救她脫險。故事雖然簡單，但沉船過程的氣氛弄得十分緊湊動人。船上乘客角色眾多，也各自有所表現，在船艙狹窄的空間中用能表現鏡頭調度的靈活性，攝影師哈爾莫爾和特技小組居功厥偉，曾獲奧斯卡最佳視覺效果金像獎提名。
