對湯姆（派屈克·德普西）而言，人生實在美好得不行：帥氣性感、事業優異、泡妞無往不利，外加豬朋狗友一堆，別提生活得多么自由自在無拘無束了！雖說“女人如衣服”正是湯姆的“至理名言”，不過善解人意的米歇爾（米歇爾·摩納漢）卻是他唯一不變的要好紅粉知己--既可以和聰敏的她無話不談，還可以在父母逼婚的當口不時用她來噹噹擋箭牌，完美！！
可湯姆的愜意感覺，卻在六個星期前煙消雲散。因為公事，漢娜不得不遠行出差前往蘇格蘭。哪知才幾天不到，湯姆就開始渾身不對勁。原來，沒了漢娜在身邊，自己人生其實一片空虛！雖然陷入愛河的認知讓習慣於放蕩不羈夜生活的湯姆覺得有點過於刺激，不過長痛不如短痛，他下定決心，只要漢娜從蘇格蘭回來，他一定馬上立刻要娶得美人歸！

新娘要結婚？！新郎不是我？！果然這年頭流行復古風，若干年前風靡一時的“我最好朋友的婚禮”也再次光景重現。不過，吃醋的主角卻來了個乾坤大挪移，昔日陽光燦爛的大嘴美女換成了《實習醫生格蕾》里一炮而紅的“夢幻先生”派屈克·德普西（話說《格蕾》的主創和“伴娘”這職位還真有淵源--凱薩琳·海格爾就在情人節來了出《新娘靠邊閃》）。或許，偶爾讓瀟灑多金的好運男主角吃吃癟，也成了這年頭的流行愛好之一。
雖然替人作嫁的戲碼早不新鮮，可配上英倫《憨豆先生》電視劇導演、“2001年MTV電影大獎”編劇，還有吸金浪漫喜劇《情歸阿拉巴馬》的製片人負責打造新時代“夢幻好男”，如此反轉創意也算別致得要緊！別的不說，就光大小銀幕通吃、運勢正強的新任好男德普西犧牲形象男扮女裝穿上伴娘服的“風采”，好歹也值得“瞻仰瞻仰”。
能迷得德普西這么豁出去的，正是《諜中碟3》里讓阿湯哥金盆洗手赴湯蹈火的米歇爾·摩納漢，溫暖牌的氣質和善解人意，看來是所有花花公子的剋星。而他的“情敵”，則是《猜火車》里的“湯米”、《羅馬》里的“盧修斯”凱文·麥基德，英美男人大比拼的陣仗誰輸誰贏，還是個懸念迭生的問題。就連老牌影帝西德尼·波拉克也不忘來攪和一把，片中那個為老不尊的老爸，老念叨著要把兒子的心上人變成自己的第六任老婆，倒也喜感不俗。

眾里尋她千百度，驀然回首，那人卻在燈火闌珊處。打住打住，好萊塢好的可不是窮書生的酸水。誰說佳人別抱錯過姻緣就要傷感？莫說戀愛自由奪愛合法，套句這時代的邏輯：結了婚也得離！罩上唏噓故事的金鐘罩，懷舊到底延循英美合拍喜劇的老路子，《新郎不是我》賣的卻更多的是溫馨喜劇，“笑”果大多集中於吃醋男不情不願的“伴娘”心路之旅。
這破天荒第一位男伴娘，不但會半夜3點電話騷擾新娘子，也要強忍鼻血陪選性感內衣，偶爾穿穿白色伴娘裝換取爆笑“羞辱”，還要甘冒被人誤以為“斷臂”的風險，差點毀掉一世英名--這代價多大啊！想來英俊瀟灑的派屈克·德普西既是電視界“夢幻先生”，又充分驗證了大銀幕吸金能力（《魔法奇緣》），卻非要“男伴娘”出鏡，你說是圖個啥啊？還不是當年大嘴茱類似角色創下第一個女星邁進千萬美金片酬俱樂部惹的禍么！
不知是不是照搬《我最好朋友的婚禮》模式上了癮，本片也似乎犯了同樣的糊塗：兩大帥哥裝瘋賽傻火花四濺，可“戰爭”的中心米歇爾·摩納漢好歹算是氣質美女一名，卻一出場就被造型整了個老氣橫秋的裝扮，敢情是真要突出愛情的內在美？
