創作背景
FutureSex/LoveSounds在專輯《FutureSex/LoveSounds》的工作開始，賈斯汀·汀布萊克和提姆巴蘭幾乎沒有一個點子。之後賈斯汀告訴創作團隊他想創作出像《Cry Me A River》一樣的歌曲。
一次丹賈在即興彈奏吉他的時候，引起了賈斯汀的注意，隨後賈斯汀開始哼唱丹賈彈奏的曲子，然後歌詞馬上就映入了賈斯汀的腦海，之後提姆巴蘭加入了鼓點。歌曲的想法出來的一個小時後，賈斯汀準備錄製這首歌。在賈斯汀上聲音錄製台之前，歌曲的背景音樂和前奏已經被提姆巴蘭製作出來。錄製時，賈斯汀會時不時的離開錄音台來填補歌中的空白，而提姆巴蘭和丹賈則把歌曲的其他工作都完成了。

劇情
截圖錄影帶開始，賈斯汀在一個俱樂部外與斯嘉麗調情。最開始斯嘉麗拒絕了賈斯汀，但最後還是和賈斯汀一同離開了那裡，到了賈斯汀的家。他們在床上愛撫。之後，斯嘉麗跳進房子外的游泳池，她浮在水中，仿佛是在溺水。賈斯汀拉出了她，她笑著親吻了賈斯汀。
