莖縮短，無腺毛 (不包括小葉之間及有時托葉和苞片邊緣的透明腺點)。小葉通常密集成輪生或假輪生，每輪3小葉或更多，或2小葉或更多小葉排成半輪生、有時對生或互生。花長15-25 (-30) 毫米；花萼筒狀或筒狀鐘形；子房無柄或具極短的柄，胚珠15-35。莢果膨脹，不完全2室或2室。產地分布
本組有38種，分布於帕米爾一阿賴、天山、阿爾泰山、喜馬拉雅、西伯利亞、阿富汗、北美洲、蒙古和我國。中國有13種，2變種，2變型，分布於東北、華北、西北、華東（山東）等地區。下級分類
