航空機關炮簡稱航炮，是飛機或直升機上使用的口徑等於或大於20毫米的自動射擊武器。能自動連續地完成開膛、抽殼、拋殼、進彈、鎖膛和擊發等射擊循環動作。口徑多為20-30毫米，有效射程通常為2000米。
航炮具有結構緊湊、重量輕、操作簡便迅速等特點。空空飛彈出現後，航炮仍是近距離格鬥不可缺少的武器，其發展重點是減輕重量，提高初速和射速，彈藥力求通用性，提高爆破力和穿甲效能。
