劇情簡介

艾薇塔，這位傳奇的女士在阿根廷人心中有著十分重要的地位。她出生貧寒，但對未來充滿憧憬，在那個時代，為此她得付出許多代價。在她年僅十五歲時，就跟一個抒情歌手跑到首都，但歌手已婚，她只有流落街頭成了一名舞女。

但具有美麗容顏的她，很快在一個攝影師的鏡頭下成名，從此輾轉在富人和官員中，直到她遇到貝隆上校——一個聲望上升的軍官，她才脫穎而出，成為耀眼的政治明星。她的一生是傳奇的一生，既深受人民愛戴，被稱為“窮人的旗手”，也被富人們稱為“不擇手段的女人”。人們忘不了她對社會、勞工、教育所做出的貢獻。其悲劇性的早逝(年僅33歲)，令人惋惜。她曾哀感“永遠也不會被理解”，其實，阿根廷人民對她的緬懷是很深的，畢竟，她悲慘的過去，不是她本人的過錯。

如果她處的時代是一個公平、富足的時代，象她一樣天真無邪的女孩就不必為生存而做不願做的事，而能選擇她所喜愛的生活方式。該電影獲三項金球獎，和奧斯卡最佳原創歌曲獎。其拍攝過程有許多傳奇般的故事。

1979年該劇大獲成功後，當時製作人羅伯特要英國導演帕克(Alan Parker)將該劇拍成電影。但被邀到奢華遊艇上，受到熱情接待的帕克居然拒絕了，他說他拍膩了這種調調，結果他被羅伯特用網球拍痛擊了一頓後，飛快的逃回飯店。由此可以想像羅伯特的巨大失望。其實，帕克對這一決定一直後悔了15年，在這期間，許多著名導演和演員都試圖將它拍成電影，但都沒成功。直到1994年，一直關注著該劇發展動態的帕克又受到邀請，這次，他沒再錯過機會。

女主角由麥當娜主演，她為獲得該角色，寫了四頁親筆信給導演，並專門學習聲樂三個月（如此有名而又如此認真！），光在錄音棚就錄了四個月，每周7天，49段音樂就錄了四百多個小時，當然出精品。而且，她在阿根廷拍外景時，面對抗議浪潮，她付出幾倍於他人的努力，終於得到回報，甚至阿根廷總統也被她的誠心感動，答應出借總統府陽台。拍攝當天，當她出現在陽台，演唱“別為我哭泣阿根廷”時，4000民眾演員和攝製人員都被深深的感動，以至人們都瘋狂了。在電影中可以見到這一真實感人的場面。（這不是民眾演員的“高超演技”）。

男演員安東尼奧.班德拉斯(Antonia Banderas)第一次和導演約見，要求扮演這一角色時，即興在飯店當眾將劇中所有曲目都引吭高歌了一遍，讓導演與其他客人都又驚又喜。貝隆由英國著名音樂劇演員演員Jonathan Pryce主演，他曾演過《西貢小姐》里“工程師”一角。
