The artist was born in the German city of Frankfurt in 1872.
He strongly focused his subject hatters on paintings of scientists at work.
This particular picture shows anastronomerat his studio, probably in the time of the 17 century. This can be seen on the clothes of the scientists and his instruments used at that time paintings are mostly represented in German museums and private collections.
