Shanghai is situated on the west coast 0f the Pacitic Ocean and in the middle part of the Chinese coastline. Located at the mouth of the Yangtze River. it is the biggest economic central city of China. Shanghai was once the international financial center of the Far East. Since China's reform and opening up to the outside world，Shanghai has experienced dramatic change sin economic and social development as well as in the appearance of the city. It is advancing toward its targets of becoming a modern metropolis and the international economic，financial，trade and shipping center. This dynamic and charming city and its hospitable people have attracted numerous visitors from a11 over the world. In 2009.there were over 6 million overseas visitors and1 00 million domestic visitors coming to Shanghai. It is foreseeable that Shanghai will host more visitors in 2010during the Expo. Today，Shanghai has more than 6000hotels and other accommodations. of which around 6%are starrated hotels and the rest are non-star-rated hotels. inns，hostels and reception centers.
