竇靖童竇靖童遺傳了爸爸竇唯、媽媽王菲的音樂天賦，在2012年的12月13日竇靖童在新浪微博中發布她的原創單曲《with you》，並呼籲大家幫忙轉發。該歌曲受到網友稱讚的同時，也得到了《吸血鬼日記》女主角妮娜-杜波夫的追捧。
2013年2月竇靖童正忙著在錄音棚中錄製正式版的《with you》，竇靖童表示她很快會把正式版上傳到SoundCloud(提供音樂分享的社區服務網站)與大家分享。竇靖童還曬出了一張其錄製時的美照，竇靖童留著長發戴著耳機，手插口袋，靦腆的對著鏡頭笑，而一身黑色裝扮顯得酷勁十足。
