Jean-Baptiste Maunier was born on December 22nd, 1990, in Brignoles (Var). Nowadays, he lives with his family in Sainte Foy les Lyon, in the outskirts of Lyons.
He adores fighting with his 10-year-old brother, Benjamin. Jean-Baptiste said in an interview that Benjamin would be jealous of him because of the success that the film “Chorists” (“The Chorus” in the USA) has given to him.
Thierry, his father (cameraman for France 2) and his mother, Muriel, try to protect him, and keep him humble. They really want Jean-Baptiste to keep the same way he was before his success.
Muriel would also wish that the fans (especially the feminine ones) calm down a little bit, not only because of the quantity of received mail but also because of the "harassment" that it creates to Jean-Baptiste and his family. She said that it’s not necessary to forget him, but Bear In Mind that he was very young, and that it was tough to manage everything; which is easy to understand!
Some people managed to get the family's personal (private) telephone number, although it has been changed and now it doesn’t appear on the phone book. This way fans cannot directly call him, a relief for his mother.
Jean-Baptiste is enrolled on the Saint-Marc centre (private, catholic institution) and will go back to 2nd the next return. When he arrived to the 6th degree, he was asked to choose between several activities. He chose the choral song and integrated the Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc (PCSM), wanting to follow his father's example who sang with the Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Rafael. This is how he could discover his unique voice and could improve it thanks to the help of Nicolas Porte, the choirmaster.
The whole family sings, he said; it is a kind of tradition. Jean-Baptiste is worried about his change of voice and doesn't know what voice he will have later. Nicolas Porte affirms that even after his change of voice, Jean-Baptiste will be able to continue singing. Certainly, he won't have the same voice anymore but he will keep his outstanding technique! Nevertheless, he must work his voice daily, about 1h30 per day!
He was happy to choose the choir, he says, because it has allowed him to make new mates ("it is like a second family") and to travel, too. In fact, his choral has been almost everywhere in France and has allowed him to go to Canada and Japan to make some representations.
Despite the fact that the choir sings classic and religious music, he likes to listen to rock (Linkin Park, Kyo, The Rasmus...) but he doesn't like rap. If he had to choose a star or group to do a duet with, he would choose the Kyo group without hesitating. Later, he would like to create a group of music with his friends...
He plays tennis since the age of 6, but he will have to give it up because he’s running out of time with so many activities in his agenda. He intends to take theatre courses now. He also likes skating, go cycling and playing soccer. He was in Portugal by the time the Euro 2004 was celebrated, to participate in a broadcast emission after the match. He also participated in the “Étoiles de l’Espoir” (Stars of the Hope).
“Chorists” has been the springboard; we wish him a long career as an actor and as a singer. Actually, he has received propositions of roles, but they remain very secret. He will shoot a TV series from April to August 2005 that will be on air beginning 2006.
The choir of the Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc was auditioned for the Original Sound Track of the film and they passed the audition. This allowed Jean-Baptiste to be discovered by director Christophe Barratier, who still had not found the actor who would play the young soloist in the movie.
After listening to Jean-Baptiste’s magnificent voice in Lyons, Christophe Barratier auditioned him. It was conclusive. It was decided: he would be the young Pierre Morhange.
As a matter of fact, the director was looking for a prodigious young singer rather than an actor who should been doubled later. “Chorists” has been his first movie and Jean-Baptiste has started marvellously!
With the repercussions of the film, Jean-Baptiste receives hundreds of letters everyday, and confessed that he would send a general letter because he cannot answer to every letter due to the lack of time. He signs a lot of autographs and is much more solicited than before... It is unnecessary to say that neither his angelic face nor his exquisite voice go unnoticed. Once again, his parents try to protect him.
He is not part of the PCSM choir anymore. We wish him happiness and success in his career as an actor.
We hope that he doesn't change and remains himself, the way the whole world fell in love with him...

協奏曲《Concerto pour deux voix》沒有一句歌詞,只是兩個
