Ashley Parker Angel1981年8月1日，Ashley Parker Angel出生於美國加州的Redding，從小跟隨母親和繼父生活，而身為鋼琴教師的母親和繼父都十分支持Ashley走音樂這條道路。2000年，在家鄉Redding一名中介人的引薦之下，Ashley Parker Angel得到了參加ABC電視台的選秀節目“Making the Band”的機會。Ashley帥氣的外形和紮實的唱功為他在五人男孩團體O-Town中贏得了一個位置。同時，Ashley Parker Angel還得到了一份與大公司簽約的契約。2001年1月，Ashley Parker Angel隨O-Town發行了首張專輯《O-Town》，得到全世界眾多年輕女歌迷的喜愛。 2002年，在O-Town解散之後，Ashley Parker Angel獨自一人來到洛杉磯尋求發展。在自己創作了多首歌曲之後，Ashley開始為自己尋找製作人。有了之前在O-Town發片的經歷，Ashley Parker Angel已經完全有能力自主選擇他想要合作的對象。2004年，Ashley最終選擇了與Da' Family Entertainment旗下的Blackground唱片公司正式簽約。與此同時，隨著電視台真人電視節目的流行，MTV台與Ashley接洽，想要以他重新進入音樂界為題材拍一部名為“There and Back: Ashley Parker Angel”的節目，而Ashley Parker Angel痛快地接受了這次邀請。
2006年1月，《There and Back: Ashley Parker Angel》開始上映，再現了Ashley Parker Angel為了重新發行專輯而在幕後所付出不懈努力的場景。2006年5月，Ashley Parker Angel的首張個人專輯《Soundtrack to Your Life》終於與歌迷見面。在本張專輯中，Ashley不僅一改昔日的流行曲風，而且還親自參與到專輯所有12首歌曲的創作當中，獲得了評論界和歌迷的一致好評。在發行後的第一周，《Soundtrack to Your Life》以7萬2千張的單周銷量排在本周Billboard 200專輯榜的第五位。
