簡介
計算機圖形學大會是計算機圖形學學術交流的重要論壇，為與會學者提供廣泛的學術交流平台，內容包括計算機圖形學、虛擬現實、計算機動畫等相關領域的最新的研究與開發成果。在國內，為了適應學科發展的新形勢，更好地推動中國計算機輔助設計與圖形學研究的發展，經Chinagraph指導委員會與中國計算機學會計算機輔助設計與圖形學專業委員會協商，一致同意進一步整合資源，並建議創辦中國計算機輔助設計與圖形學大會這一全新的學術交流平台。國外一些頂級計算機圖形學會議有ACM International Conference on Multimedia，ACM SIGGRAPH Annual Conference等。
計算機圖形學
計算機圖形學(Computer Graphics，簡稱CG)是一種使用數學算法將二維或三維圖形轉化為計算機顯示器的柵格形式的科學。簡單地說，計算機圖形學的主要研究內容就是研究如何在計算機中表示圖形、以及利用計算機進行圖形的計算、處理和顯示的相關原理與算法。
1963年，伊凡·蘇澤蘭(Ivan Sutherland)在麻省理工學院發表了名為《畫板》的博士論文， 它標誌著計算機圖形學的正式誕生。至今已有五十多年的歷史。此前的計算機主要是符號處理系統，自從有了計算機圖形學，計算機可以部分地表現人的右腦功能了，所以計算機圖形學的建立具有重要的意義。
中國計算機圖形學大會
中國計算機圖形學大會(Chinagraph)是由中國計算機學會、中國自動化學會、中國圖學學會、中國圖像圖形學會、中國系統仿真學會、香港多媒體及圖像計算學會於1996年發起並聯合主辦，是中國計算機圖形學界最高級別的學術會議，已成為華語學者計算機圖形學學術交流的重要論壇。大會自創辦以來每兩年召開一次，為與會學者提供廣泛的學術交流平台，內容包括計算機圖形學、虛擬現實、計算機動畫、數字圖像處理、多媒體技術等相關領域的研究與開發成果，迄今為止已經成功舉辦了十屆。每一屆Chinagraph會議評選並頒發中國計算機圖形學貢獻獎和傑出獎各一名，表彰和獎勵對中國計算機圖形學的發展做出重大貢獻和在計算機圖形學理論、算法的研究和套用等方面成績卓著的專家學者。同時，大會評選最佳論文獎1～3篇。
為了適應學科發展的新形勢，更好地推動中國計算機輔助設計與圖形學研究的發展，經Chinagraph指導委員會與中國計算機學會計算機輔助設計與圖形學專業委員會協商，一致同意進一步整合資源，並建議創辦中國計算機輔助設計與圖形學大會這一全新的學術交流平台，並且將每兩年召開一次的大會改為每年召開一次的年會，更好地服務於計算機輔助設計與圖形學的學術界研究人員和產業界研發人員。
