1982-1986：畢業於哈爾濱工業大學數學專業獲學士學位。
1986-1991：畢業於哈爾濱工業大學數學專業獲博士學位。
薛小平教授1991-1992：哈爾濱工業大學數學系講師。
1992-1997：哈爾濱工業大學數學系副教授。
1997-2002：哈爾濱工業大學數學系教授。
2002—目前 哈爾濱工業大學數學系博士生導師。
中國系統工程學會模糊數學與模糊系統委員會常務理事。
學術兼職：中國數學會理事 黑龍江省數學學會 副理事長兼秘書長。

主要研究方向： 泛函分析、模糊數學,微分包含,神經網路。
