劇情簡介
瑞奇·鮑比（威爾·法瑞爾Will Ferrell 飾）的賽車手父親在他幼年時便宣告失蹤，父親臨走前“不是第一，便是最後”的宣言一直陪伴著瑞奇和死黨卡爾（約翰·C·賴利John C. Reilly 飾），成年後的瑞奇與卡爾雙雙進入丹尼特車隊擔任維修人員，一次在塔拉德加的比賽中，賽車手因畏懼故障選擇退出，救場的瑞奇展示了強大的駕駛技術奪得第三名一舉成名，自此和卡爾轉為賽車手為車隊出戰，出色的成績令瑞奇名利雙收，抱得嬌妻，好友卡爾則忠心耿耿擔任綠葉為他掃清賽道，不可一世的瑞奇很快遭到了隊友的挑戰——來自法國的F1車手讓·傑拉德，傑拉德徹底擊敗瑞奇令其一蹶不振，正當喪失了一切的瑞奇心灰意懶時，失蹤多年的父親突然出現，要幫助他奪回一切……

幕後製作
NASCAR賽車在全世界範圍的影響力可能遠不如F1，但在美國卻是一項無限風光的賽事。它的收視率甚至高過了NBA比賽和美國的"國球"--棒球聯賽。它起源於私酒販子為了逃避警察追捕，而不斷改造自己車輛以加快速度，後來這成為了一項速度競賽。和F1不同，NASCAR是採用改造後的房車進行比賽，速度也沒有F1快，但由於使用的都是日常生活中的車輛，所以更加吸引那些平日愛開車的人們來參加和關注這項賽事。也有不少F1車手退出F1之後加入NASCAR陣營，這段時間就有F1麥卡特倫車隊的蒙托亞退出F1，加入NASCAR，這使得NASCAR賽事受關注程度再次提高。
在威爾·法瑞爾和亞當·麥凱編寫這個以NASCAR賽車為背景的劇本之前，他們甚至還不是此項賽事的熱心觀眾。但在去塔拉迪加跑道觀看過一場NASCAR比賽後，他們被現場轟鳴的引擎聲和那些洶湧的人潮深深觸動了。這一切帶給了他們靈感，促使劇本最終成型。作為一個狂熱的體育運動迷，威爾為自己能夠出演一部以體育運動為主題的喜劇片，並且藉機體驗一把NASCAR的速度與激情，感到非常開心。
