為了慶祝聖誕節，Mariah於1994年11月1日發行了她的聖誕專輯，MerryChristmas。這也是歷史上銷量最好的聖誕專輯之一。12月在專輯榜成績為第3名（1994年12月16日），銷量為5白金。在美國，專輯銷量為5,400,000張。在日本，專輯銷量為2,700,000張。全球專輯銷量為17,000,000張。
MerryChristmas很容易讓人想到20世紀60年代女子組合PhilSpector的聖誕專輯AChristmasGifttoYou。實際上，這張專輯就是收錄了像DarleneLove的Christmas(BabyPleaseComeHome)以及傳統歌曲Hark!theHeraldAngelsSing,Gloria(inExcelsisDeo)，SilentNight等。

AllIWantForChristmasIsYou
是MerryChristmas專輯中的第一支單曲。也是專輯中三首Carey-Afanasieff作品中的一支。這是一首中節奏的情歌，充滿了豐富的聖誕色彩。
值得一提的是，這首作品在日本相當的受歡迎。1994年11月該單曲首發。隨後在1996年10月和2000年12月再次在日本發行。而日本發行的#1’s、GreatestHits以及TheRemixes中也都收錄了該曲目。
AllIWantforChristmasisYou的音樂錄影帶是在聖誕節之前拍攝的，TommyMotolla扮演了一個聖誕老人。而在1994年12月14日，MTV電視台的一個一小時Mariah電視特輯中，出現了一個黑白六零年代風格的新音樂錄影帶。
JesusBornonthisDay
