5-6

In paragraph 5, there are some obstacles for me [to read]. I know “spring” means one of SEASONS in one year, and it is [a] verb in the first sentence. In our class, my classmates explained it. “Spring...from” is a phrase, it means “be the result of”. What is “clearly not”? In my view, the author wants to express and answer that the benefits of being good-looking don not spring entirely from one’s being sexually attractive. Afterwards, the author quotes “young children” to prove his opinion, because young children are pure to everything. What dose the meaning of “attached”? Others give me an explanation that is “enclose”. In my impression, “discipline” is a noun, and it means “a particular area of study”. But it means “to train or teach someone to obey rules” in this paragraph.

In paragraph 6, I find one interesting sentence. “Even if of the same sex” leaves out some contents. It can be written “even if beautiful people are of the same sex as we are”.
