ten ten then

Cheating, that means something dishonest which makes people believe that something is true when it is not. It uses with the preposition “on”, that I discovers in the under article. When I looked the first sentence, I guessed “get a handle on” was a phrase, really, it indeed was, and its meaning was gain understanding or control of something. “Pattern” equates to “mode”. “Reports record sales” puzzled me. I find the correct meaning in the reference book, it means still creates the record.

In the third paragraph, the first sentence is a little complex me. In this sentence, “one” refers to “a different picture” and “that shatters the myths about who cheats and why” is its(it) attributive clause. The word “shatter” here means “damage or destroy (a person’s beliefs, hopes, confidence, etc.)”. The second sentence is very long and has four “of”, it is equal to Chinese parallelism sentence. I think that it’s a beautiful sentence. It can make my eyes to be bright, called author's self-satisfied work, I am reciting repeatedly, filling with the feeling of satisfies. Records the ripe these sentences to be able to cause me to start writing the magical powers, I hoped own article can like author's this sentence, lets(let) the person praise without cease.

In the forth paragraph, “seminar” means an occasion when a teacher or expert and a group of people meet to study and discuss something. “Phenomenon” means something that exists and can be seen, felt, tasted, etc., especially something which is unusual or interesting. The last sentence is also long and has some difficulty. I don’t know the meaning of “it is there”. What “there” meaning?

In the fifth paragraph, I can know the meaning of entire paragraph. But also has some new words for me. “abdicate” means “give up” or “not do”. “Shoplifting” means the illegal act of taking goods from a shop without paying for them.

In the sixth paragraph, the sentence “a child cheats on…” make me know the usage of the “cheat”. “Get outraged” means get angry. “Keeps hearing” means unceasingly hears. “inconsistency” means if a reason, idea, opinion, etc. is inconsistent, different parts of it do not agree, or it does not agree with something else. An “expense account” is “an account of business expenditures for which an employee will be reimbursed”.

The first sentence of the seventh paragraph also has some complex for me, includes some subordinate clauses. After I glanced through the reference book then completely understands its meaning.

The “poll after poll” in the eighth means a lot of public opinion poll. The second line “fall” means autumn. “Ingenious” means (of a person) very clever and skilful, or (of a thing) cleverly made or planned and involving new ideas and methods.
