個人經歷
在80年初開始了他的音樂生涯,也有和McShan,Roxanne Shante一起工作過.88年簽了Cold Chillin;.而且發行了; ,次年發行了The Biz Never Sleeps中的Just A Friend十分受到當時美國市場好評.也使得Markie成為當時最重要Rappa和Hiphop影響力最大人物之一.這也使他愛發行第三張I Need a Haircut承受很多的壓力,另外,加上Sample問題的訴訟案更加惡化!到93年,Markie繼續他的音樂事業,發行了All Samples.這張也可以說是商業音樂下的受害者!!!!!!!而後的幾年,Biz 常和Beasitie Boyz一起工作,也開始Djing,從此過著低調的音樂人生活.(他的單曲Just A Friend被滾石評為最偉大的100首英文歌曲之一.)年輕的一批rapper,象是Obie Trice等也都受到了他的影響.
在眾多的Old School說唱MC中，BIZ Markie毋庸質疑是東海岸饒舌音樂的根源。他孩子般的幽默和童趣掩蓋了他作為一個傑出freestyle rhymer的事實，又或許Biz Markie未能將他狂野的饒舌技藝完整的展示在作品，但他卻以自己的方式令唱片有了價值。在他傻乎乎的幽默感以及創造力十足的採樣造就的音樂中，他證明了Hip Hop可以在搞笑又具有藝術感，同時又不失街頭文化的親和力。他這樣獨特的風格令專輯大獲成功，同時也是對他的詛咒--其中採樣受到過高的關注，以至於他終因1991年"Alone Again"一曲中未經許可的採樣另他受到起訴。漫長的訴訟令他的音樂生涯就此停滯。但他在90年代中期為Beastie Boyz的冠軍單曲獻聲，還是讓我們看到了他在Hip Hop樂壇巨大的影響力。
一臉傻乎乎的Biz Markie絕對稱的上是Harlem的傳奇,在Old School正在走向衰落的那個期間,Biz Markie一首"Just a Friend"為他賺夠了榮耀,也讓充滿童趣幽默的饒舌方式在硬核泛濫的年代中體現了出了價值,而"Just a Friend"則被《滾石》評為"最偉大的100首英文歌曲"之一(1963-2000).我想喜歡Old School的朋友應該都知道他那首Just a Friend吧，曾經HipaTop100裡面重複率很高的歌。
