個人經歷
George StraitGeorge Strait於52年5月18日出生於德克薩斯州的普迪特（Poteet），是80年代最有影響的鄉村歌手之一。
George Strait從小在父親的牧場裡長大，有時幫父親做些傳籬笆、放牲口等工作。十幾歲時，他就開始玩音樂。1年，George Strait應徵入伍，3年駐紮在夏威夷。基地司令員想建立一支軍隊鄉村樂隊，這件事吸引了George Strait，他買了一把便宜的吉他，開始模仿漢克·威廉士的唱片，並給樂隊起了個名字叫浪漫鄉村樂隊（Rambling Country），常在營地外進行演出。
5年他回到家鄉，為了滿足父親的期望，進了西南德克薩斯州綜合大學（Sounthwest Tesxas university），在攻讀農學學位的同時，他組織了一支樂隊。9年，他在MCA唱片公司錄製了他的第一張專輯。此後，George Strait長期占據排榜上的高位，將近30次榮登榜首。到了90年代，許多歌手（包括加斯·布魯克斯）都把他當作榜樣。George Strait不願露面，比其他著名歌手接受採訪要少得多，但在92年，他參加了電影《樂韻情緣》（Pure Country）的演出，這部電影中的四首歌曲上榜，使George Strait站到了鄉村樂壇的前列。

1981年春，George Strait的首支單曲《Unwound》正式發行並一舉進入排行榜前十。之後的《If You're Thinking You Want a Stranger (There's One Coming Home)》在82年成為排行榜第三的單曲。而從82年的《Fool Hearted Memory》算起，George Strait一共擁有了31首排行榜的冠軍單曲。1992年，George Strait出演了自己的第一部電影《樂韻情緣》（Pure Country），片中George擔任主演。1995年，George Strait推出了一張4碟的合輯，以回顧自己音樂生涯。
