創作背景
埃米納姆和dr.dre這首歌是Dr.Dre十幾年磨一劍的專輯《Detox》中的歌曲。歌曲由亞歷克斯男孩製作。Amazon網站上給出的官方發行日期是2月1日。歌詞中有一段“f**k all you fair-weather friends，all I need is him”，這一小段歌詞足見師徒倆的感情。
這首歌的歌名是一語雙關，而且歌詞裡面也充滿了雙關的詞，Dr為doctor的縮寫，有醫生和博士的意思，《I Need a Doctor》既指Em需要一位醫生來拯救Dr. Dre的生命，Eminem的生命中需要這位亦師亦友的Dr.Dre，也指他包括歌迷需要Dre回歸，他們想念他的音樂回歸。

MV歌曲的音樂錄影帶由Allen Hughes導演，發布於2011年2月24日。
MV的開始，德瑞博士站在海邊回憶起了過去的往事，包括他和埃米納姆寶貴的年輕時期片段。之後他開始飆車，最後車子被掀翻，德瑞博士出了車禍，從此被送進醫院，一直處於昏迷狀態。數年之後，埃米納姆來到他所在的醫院，他憤怒的懇求昏迷狀態的Dre快點醒來（寓意讓Dre快點復出發行《Detox》） ，Eminem的絕望不僅能聽到，還能通過他的眼睛看到。最後，在埃米納姆之後不久，德瑞博士復甦了，他開始鍛鍊，終於“復出”。
