Kaeshammer released his Blue Keys, his auspicious debut album in 1996 as a young teenager. Age is no barrier to expression of talents. He went on to strike the right note and was hailed for his prodigious performance even in the first album. In 1998, he signed with Alma Records and joined with producer Peter Cardinali to bring out "Tell You How I Feel". With that album, he tried to express his inclination towards jazz and the recording itself featured a host of Canadian jazz stars complementing Kaeshammer's mastery of the various jazz forms. In 2000, producer Peter Cardinali was interested in extending the reach of this young pianist. He accorded Kaeshammer to New Orleans to record with Big Easy Legends Eddie Bo, Art Neville and Johnny Vidacovich, for his third album – " No Strings Attached", which was an amazing collection of funky blues and reinterpretation of ragtime and boogie-woogie classics. Interestingly, Canadian jazz performers Neil Swanson, Guido Basso, and Terry Clarke also contributed to this effort. The album yielded the right fruits. It bagged the JUNO nomination and the West Coast Music Award for the best Male Artist of the year 2001. His conquest of awards continued in the following year with a couple more West Coast Music Awards, Performance of the Year award and Musician of the Year awards. His next work "Strut" was nominated for the 2004 Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year Juno award. Strut was recorded in the perfect recording set up that noted engineer Denis Tougas created, with the help of producer Cardinali. The right ambience was created by drummer Vidacovich and veteran bassist Ben Wolfe. What more can an artist ask for than the wholehearted support of the colleagues? Strut resulted as a classic. It was released in 2003 and was available only in live shows and online. It was widely distributed in 2004. Kaeshammer was impressed himself with the output of Strut and declared that he intended to tour this album for the couple of years that followed. Kaeshammer continues to treat music lovers with his prodigious talents and has been coming of age with every release. He is very promising in the jazz scene and has created a lot of hope with his potential that is expected to unwind in future. Much can be expected from this young man and he is going to be keeping himself and his fans very busy in the coming years!
