濮培德
簡介濮培德，1949年生，美國著名歷史學家，漢學家，現任耶魯大學歷史系教授。
濮培德1981年在哈弗大學歷史與東亞語言研究所獲得博士學位，博士論文Population Growth ,Agricultural Development,and Social Conflict in Hunan,1500-1850.
他最為稱頌的兩部著作就是Exhausting the Earth: State and Peasant in Hunan 1500-1850 A.D.(Council on East Asian Studies, Harvard University, 1987)和China Marches West: The Qing Conquest of Central Eurasia(Harvard University Press, 2005)，其中第二本獲得2006年的李文森獎。他的著作還包括中國的糧食市場、農業發展、歷史環境等方面，他的研究興趣包括中國現代史、日本社會經濟史、邊疆史、以及世界史。
他還獲得過1998年的Edgerton Award、the James A. Levitan Prize，擔任過Ford International Career Development主席，2007年入選the American Academy of Arts and Sciences
